Looking to get away from the big city and its traffic and crowds?
Circuit Engineering District #7 (CED 7) is a governmental entity, as a political subdivision of the 11 counties in the Southwest portion of Oklahoma. Our office is located in Clinton, OK. We are seeking a full-time, licensed professional civil engineer that will develop federally- and state-funded road and bridge projects from cradle to grave of the project development process. This includes working with our client counties to select potential viable projects, developing documentation needed for the clearance of the projects through the environmental clearance process, working with surveyors and geotechnical engineering firms to acquire the information needed to design the projects, performing hydraulic studies to determine required bridge/structure sizes, designing vertical and horizontal alignments for the project, developing right-of-way plans and legal descriptions of required parcels, and developing plans for submittal for contractors to place bids on the projects.
If the candidate has been involved with the federal NBI bridge safety inspection process and has attended the federal Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges (Course No. FHWA-NHI-130055), it would be a plus, but is not required.
The licensed engineer that fills this position will have the opportunity for advancement within the next 3 to 5 years.
Job Requirements:
- Currently licensed as a professional civil engineer in the State of Oklahoma, or able to become licensed within 6 months
- Versed in the use of HEC-RAS software to perform hydraulic studies as part of bridge design projects.
- Experience in developing bridge replacement and roadway grade, drain & surface projects.
- Experience in use of AutoCad Civil3D software would be a plus.
- Ability to relocate to the area for this position.
- Supervisory skills and experience are a plus.
CED 7 has an excellent benefits package, including:
- Retirement Plan – The company pays the equivalent of 12% of the employee’s base salary into a 401A program through Lincoln Financial Services, which the employee can then customize which funds they wish to enroll into.
- Supplemental Retirement Plan - The company will also match the first $25 the employee places in a 457B plan, also through Lincoln Financial Services. The employee can contribute as much as they wish into this plan, up to the limits allowed for this plan type.
- Health insurance – The company pays for the employee’s health care. We are enrolled in an excellent Blue Cross-Blue Shield program.
- Supplemental Health -Each employee has a $400/month stipend that can be used to help pay for adding dependents to their health care plan, or it can be used to purchase supplemental health care or life insurance policies through Aflac. If the employee does not wish to use this stipend on those options, any part of the stipend not used for such will be rolled into their 401K retirement plan.
- Paid annual leave – new employees accrue annual leave at a rate of 8 hours per month worked. This accrual rate increases with years of service.
- Paid sick leave – all employees accrue sick leave at the rate of 8 hours per month worked. This leave can also be used as enforced or family leave to aid with the care of a family member.
Salary: Salary is based upon education and experience. We are very competitive with other entities searching for like personnel.
